MP3 Converter questions
Which formats can I convert to MP3?
WAV, MP3, M4A and FLAC are accepted when your browser can decode them. Codec support varies. For MP4 video, use MP4 to MP3.
Does this improve audio quality?
No. MP3 is lossy. A higher bitrate can retain more detail during encoding, but cannot restore detail missing from the original. Converting MP3 again can lose quality.
What are the limits?
One file up to 50 MB and five minutes. Mono and stereo are supported; surround sound is rejected. Output uses a 44.1 kHz sample rate.
Are tags and artwork preserved?
No. Song tags, artwork, chapters and original metadata are not copied. A small amount of encoder padding may change the displayed duration.
Does my audio leave my device?
No. Decoding and MP3 encoding happen locally. Optional analytics receives only the tool name, never audio or filenames.
