How do I convert JPG to WebP?

Will WebP files always be smaller?
No. Size depends on the original image and quality setting. Lower quality usually reduces file size but may soften fine detail. Compare the downloaded result before replacing an original.
Does JPEG to WebP work too?
Yes. JPG and JPEG are the same image format; both file extensions are accepted.
Is 100% quality lossless?
No. This tool uses lossy WebP encoding at every quality setting. It keeps the original pixel dimensions, but does not restore lost detail or preserve original metadata and colour profiles.
Can I batch convert images?
Yes. Convert up to 20 images, 15 MB each, 100 MB total and 150 megapixels per batch. Each image is limited to 25 megapixels. Animated PNG files are rejected.
Do my files leave my device?
