How do I remove an image background?
Choose your image and click Remove background. The model estimates the main subject and turns the surrounding area transparent. Review the cutout before downloading.
Does my photo leave my device?
No. The AI model and engine download from Formatixa, and processing runs in your browser. Image contents and filenames are not sent to analytics.
Can I make a transparent PNG?
Yes. The output is a PNG at the original pixel dimensions, with an alpha channel. The checkerboard shown in the preview is not part of the downloaded image. Existing transparency is retained.
Will hair and complex edges be perfect?
No. The models work best with a clear main subject. Detailed mode downloads about 180 MB on first use, while Fast mode downloads about 17 MB and may miss parts of a subject. Hair, glass, shadows, multiple subjects and busy backgrounds can produce imperfect edges. This version has no manual brush or edge editor.
What files are supported?
One static JPG, PNG or WebP image under 15 MB and up to 12 megapixels. Animated images are rejected. Very large images can exceed memory on phones. Original metadata and colour profiles are not copied.
