A few useful answers

Will transparency be preserved?

Yes. Transparent areas remain transparent in the PNG. The output uses standard 8-bit browser colour; original profiles and metadata are not copied.

Can I convert animated or HDR AVIF?

Animated files and identified PQ or HLG HDR profiles are rejected. Export a standard-brightness still image first. Untagged or unusual colour profiles may render differently; check the preview.

Why can my browser not read an AVIF?

Decoding depends on your browser and operating system. Try an updated browser. This tool accepts one still image up to 15 MB and 25 megapixels.

Will PNG restore lost detail?

No. PNG avoids another lossy encoding step, but cannot restore detail already lost in the AVIF. Output files may be larger.

Do my files leave my device?

No. Processing and downloads happen locally in this browser. Optional analytics receives only the tool name, never file contents or filenames.
